This page explains how we research, write, test and update what we publish.
Written by practitioners
Our authors design and build websites professionally. Each article shows its author and when it was last updated.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to help with research, outlines and first drafts. A human editor rewrites every article, checks every fact and adds what AI cannot: our own screenshots, tested code, real project numbers and opinions. Nothing is published without that review.
Testing and sources
- Code samples are run before they are published.
- Prices, versions and statistics are dated and linked to their source.
- Roundups only include products we have opened, installed or used.
Sponsored articles
Some articles are paid for by a partner. They are always marked Sponsored at the top and in article lists, links to the sponsor are marked rel="sponsored", and they must meet the same quality standards as everything else we publish. Our own reviews and roundups are never paid for.
Advertising, affiliates and partners
- Advertising appears in clearly labelled ad slots, separate from articles.
- Affiliate links: some links to products earn us a small commission. They never decide what we recommend. See our affiliate disclosure.
- Partners: WebDesignColumn is run by the team behind Plugig Solutions (a web agency) and ThemeVault (website templates). Where we mention them, we say so.
Updates and corrections
We review our most-read articles regularly and show the date of the last update. If you spot a mistake, email hello@webdesigncolumn.com and we will fix it.
